BackBox Named Finalist for Cyber Resilience Award by Cyber Defense Magazine
Cyber Defense Magazine’s 2024 Top InfoSec Innovator Award winners will be announced in Q4
LAS VEGAS, NV – AUGUST 7, 2024 – BackBox is proud to announce that Cyber Defense Magazine, a leading security magazine named it a finalist in the Cyber Resilience category. Judging continues through October, and winners will be announced online, in print, and during Cyber Defense Con 2024, Oct. 31 – Nov. 1, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.
“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from Cyber Defense Magazine, an independent cybersecurity news and information provider. Now, more than ever, companies are investing in cyber resiliency, and we are proud customers trust us to be a core part of their cyber resiliency plans, with reliable backup and single-click restore, simplified software updates, and automated vulnerability remediation,” said Rekha Shenoy, CEO of BackBox.
Vulnerabilities are being exploited faster than ever as threat actors use AI to help discover exploits. In 2023, the average time to exploit vulnerabilities was 44 days, but in 25% of cases, exploits were available on the same day, and 75% were exploited within 19 days, highlighting threat actors’ growing efficiency.
Meanwhile, unless a high-severity CVE captures executive-level attention, defenders are not keeping pace. The latest stats reflect this. The mean time to identify and contain a data breach initiated by a known unpatched vulnerability is 253 days, and the time for unknown (zero-day) vulnerabilities is slightly longer at 272 days.
“BackBox embodies three major features we judges look for with the potential to become winners: understanding tomorrow’s threats today, providing a cost-effective solution, and innovating in unexpected ways that can help mitigate cyber risk and get one step ahead of the next breach,” said Gary S. Miliefsky, Publisher of Cyber Defense Magazine.
